Description
This time of year (Spring) there are many wildflowers growing in a Texas meadow nearby me and every chance I get, I go hiking through for photo ops. There are some sandy areas in between the wildflowers and the grasses and I saw this unusual grasshopper resting on the ground. I had not seen one like this before so it was a nice surprise to see it. It looks like it is probably a Northern Green-striped Grasshopper. Its red and green colors really stand out.
