Portrait of Roy Williams
Day 69 of the 100 day 2021 art challenge.
Working from photographs. This is my interpretation, using black ink with a dip pen over a light, base pencil sketch. In honor of his retirement, I decided to do a portrait of Roy Willams. Now former head coach for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, before that Kansas University Jayhawks. Third winningest collegiate (mens) coach of all time, only coach to have over 400 wins at two schools.Three national championships. I have always enjoyed watching great, fundamentally sound basketball. That is a basic expectation when the Heels play. It will be interesting to see whether they can maintain their winning ways after this legendary figure is replaced. Congratulations on a remarkable run!
