Description
Shiny blue and orange marbles with reflections are the subject of this painting. I painted these vintage, colorful marbles as both a challenge to paint glass, and a chance to remind me of my youth. I was never great at the childhood game of marbles, but I had lots of fun looking at them. :) I used Arches 140 lb paper and Winsor Newton pigments.

Hahahahaha! That was me, too! I could never shoot the marble with my thumb, had to "throw" it, without letting my hand go over the shooting line. I was not bad with that technique, but kids who could use their thumbs were much better at hitting what they aimed at than I was! LOL!

Fabulous painting, Margaret! Just voted for it in the Things We Don't Do Anymore contest - sadly true! I treasured my cat's-eye marbles as a kid, and we played marbles in the schoolyard every day each spring - it was an annual rite! Voted, L/F
