Description
Although the town of Seabrook, Washington is a new community, this old light exuded a considerable amount of character while being surrounded be very weathered shake siding. I was drawn to the unique shadow and had to paint the piece in a fashion that paralleled my current style. It is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint and Daniel Smith Primatek watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The interaction of the course grained paper and the heavily pigmented paints created very nice textural effects in the piece. The original piece is 10"x14".

A good solid, well designed work with an intriguing title... the 'light' is actually throwing the shadow.... it brings with it all kinds of questions..
