Description
Jennie Sealy, the newest edition to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, also known as UTMB Health, was opened April of 2016. This multi-million dollar facility features 310 patient rooms, including 60 dedicated ICU beds, a 28-bed day surgery unit and 20 state-of-the-art operating suites. This piece captures the stark lines of the architecture bordered by tropical palms and the surrounding trees with their new foliage. The day was cloudless and the view seemed absolutely gorgeous on this spring day. Did I just happen to be viewing the building from just the right viewpoint, was it just luck? Probably not since as a photographer of many years I've learned that composition is one of the most important factors in having a successful picture. Composition is at the heart of all of my artwork! After taking the photo I transformed it into a piece of art using multiple techniques, always.. always, making the picture seem, well... less photographic, worthy of being framed and hung with my other pieces of art, many of which I have collected by other favored artists.
