Relief - Block Print
Hippopotamus live along the rivers and lakes of sub-Saharan Africa. They take refuge from the heat by spending the day in the water. At night they come ashore to feed on grasses, primarily, and fallen fruit. They weigh up to 8,000 pounds, making them the heaviest land animals after elephants. Hippos are currently at risk from habitat loss. Part of the 100 WILD ANIMALS MINI-PRINTS series.
