His fame and notoriety would multiply many, many times over through the years as he would influence a generation after generation after generation of writers and filmmakers, from John Carpenter to Stephen King to Alan Moore and beyond. And so, Lovecraft's name has become a brand, a type of cosmic horror.

HP Elvis was created by photocopying pictures of Lovecraft and Elvis and cutting and pasting them together. Then white out was applied on the seams, and the whole thing was photocopied again. And again. For a few generations.
Then, that resulting image was scanned.
