This larger than life project I involved myself thru The City of New Orleans imitative The Welcome Table of Race and Reconciliation has been the most rewarding experiences I have ever personally been involved and opportunity to submit my idea of a new city installation for the Mid-City neighborhood, community and visitors who visit Equity Circle with today and future generations a monument to all citizens.....

Greetings Tonya, thank you so much for the beautiful words, New Orleans celebrates its 300th anniversary next year and this unique project will be standing for generations to follow. The awarded money was granted by the Kellogg Foundation and Winter Institute and City approval for its construction and group member committee involvement with the various projects. My personal legacy as a lifelong artist since 10 years old and photographer recognized with this city project. When the official announcement was made to the city back in March I spoke of Equity Circle like no other place quite like it constructed here in the city. Upon traveling 2,763 miles visiting cities across the South West and West to California when I returned the Geographic's of New Orleans is so unique being surrounded by water, locals do not use or give directions of North, South, East or West as in the original concept drawing. Instead we say Upriver, Downriver, Lakeside and Riverside and many say Uptown or Downtown any given street. A public space to bring people together in conversation instead of distancing themselves from their individual communities. When I received the city's Mayor's Community Excellence Award I was honored and proud of my accomplishment and association with all the fellow group Welcome Table members and other city wide Welcome Table members. Each group of 30 individuals introduced their ideas and community projects. This was the last year of the city's initiative yet groups continue promoting awareness of community involvement with their projects. Cheers from Nawlins and Happy Holidays!!!!
