I fell in love with these water lilies while walking around Witch Hole Pond in Acadia National Park.
Water Lilies are an important religious symbol in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Buddhists regard the water lily as a symbol of enlightenment because of the beautiful bloom that emerges from the mud. They also consider the water lily a symbol of purity, spontaneous generation and divine birth.
If you look very carefully, there is a reflection of the two water lilies close together in the lily pad just beneath them. I love the soft and warm colors with the coolness of the blue water. The sun was setting which helped create this warm and welcoming image. I could stare at this photo all day and I know that I would feel relaxed and revived.
