Bass Harbor Ocean Marker
Photograph - Photographs
Being out on the ocean is one of the most therapeutic places to be, but especially when I am on Mount Desert Island. This is the iconic marker just off the coast from the Bass Harbor Lighthouse. We were on the boat that departs from Bass Harbor on our way out to Blue Hill Bay for a lovely nature cruise with Captain Eli aboard the R.L. Gott lobster boat. The fog was rolling in from the east creating this lovely blue, violet haze around the red buoy. The bell was clanking away warning boaters of the rough rocks on the coast line. I love the simplicity of this image. The red buoy stands out perfectly with the blue ocean and violet sky. I can almost hear the bell ringing as I look at this photo. Nice memory of a wonderful day!
