Brunnhorn mountain in Hvalnes peninsula of Iceland is known as the Batman mountain due to its distinctive shape which looks like a bat. Here wonderful light shines on the mountain and on the fields in front of it. Brunnhorn is one of the 'Horny' Mountains of East Iceland along with Vestrahorn and Eystrahorn. The East Fjords have some definitely epic vistas and locations to explore!
Brunnhorn is too far from Reykjavík taking over six hours to reach. So, it is most easily accessed by travelers staying in the South or driving around the island. The nearest settlements to the mountain are Höfn to the west and Djúpivogur to the east.
In this photo you can see the ocean haze in front of the mountain. Those peaks are visible even from Stokksness beach so pay attention at the right of Vestrahorn if you are there. Driving further east away from Vestrahorn look behind you to see these impressive peaks.
