A lot of people nowadays eat açaí 'berries'. Did you know that açaí is actually the fruit of the açaí palm? Açaí fruit is prized for being a highly antioxidant-containing food. Interestingly enough, açaí actually has fewer polyphenols (the nutrient that is an antioxidant) than mangoes, strawberries or grapes; however, açaí is exotic and has had a very good marketing campaign to induce people to buy and eat it, even though it is much pricier that any of the other three fruits above. The cascade of fruits is very beautiful without doubt!
