Gilding The Lilly

This contest is designed to celebrate GOLD!!...... I LOVE MY BLING!

There are so many opportunities to add the opulent, fluid look, and sensuous feel of metallics with today’s wide array of affordable new products!
Charvin offers several acrylic (perhaps even oil?) metallic paints. I have mixed metallic powders with Liquitex glazing medium and water droplets for customized before and after effects! I have even “played” with Swarovski crystal or pearl embellishment elements.

This is NOT such a NOVEL CONCEPT. One might explore the encaustic wooden triptychs of centuries past, or the Japanese art of using pure gold with which to mend broken pots/vessels, Renaissance excess or Russian iconography! I am certain, I may have forgotten some of my Art History...there must be more!
