I am mostly a self taught artist, I started painting seriously in 2012 and I have been doing so ever since. The only class I’ve attended was a short 8 week class at the Springfield Art Academy in Springfield, Il. on marksmanship and art gesture in early 2016. I created my own website www.VanGrowArt.com in October, 2015 and continue to run it by myself. I have my original art for sale on the website as well as prints, t-shirts, and all sorts of merchandise with my art. I’m still fairly new to the art world, but I take pride in all my work and pour my soul into each and every one of them. I can’t say I really stick to one style, because I constantly try to push myself with each new painting and I’m always trying new subjects and mediums to test my ability as a painter. I’ve come a long way and my paintings show it. I like to use a lot of vibrant colors and texture in my paintings, I feel as though it adds to the depth and beauty. I love using the palette knife and do so very frequently, but not all the time. I just hope my work can bring joy to everyone else like they have me.
