Stephan Ruch is a Swiss artist who has developed a rather extraordinary style of art: since 2007 he has created sand images representing impressionistic and sometimes surreal objects. In 2012 he opened his first public exhibition in the Schönau Gallery in Bern, Switzerland. The following year 2013, he was exhibiting his work in three more places, amongst others in Muralto, Switzerland where he has been a chosen artist for the 'collettiva internazionale di pittura', the international picture collection.
In September 2014 he had the opportunity to participate at the Rotterdam International Art Fair, a large scale Exhibition hosted by the Global Art Agency (GAA) with approximately 5,000 visitors. Furthermore, his sand art features on two pages of the 'Contemporary Art of Excellence - Investable Art 2015' book, which appeared in January 2015 in major museums, galleries and book shops worldwide with an edition of around 10,000 copies. This publication is edited by curators belonging to the GAA.
In march 2017 he showed his Sand Pictures at the ARTIFACT Gallery in New York.
