CELEBRATE COLOR! Color is the energy which radiates in a painting. Color can move you, thrill you, calm you and make you feel life is wonderful.
I started my art career growing up in an artistic family. After a career in the corporate world I pursued my love of art
for many years as a Midwesterner but now I'm a southern artist living in beautiful tropical Florida.
Belief in providence, luck, curiosity and taking advantage of opportunities to maximizes my creativity. Some ideas come from crazy dreams, a memory or even a word. Color is the unifying element in my artwork.
My photographs taken from my travels to Europe, Canada and the United States are the source material for my paintings - including birds, animals, fish, flowers, still life, landscape, water scenes, sunsets, autumn colors, water reflections and architecture, city and village scenes.
I paint in watercolor, Chinese watercolor, oil, and acrylic media. Formats rnclude: floral, landscape, abstract, contemporary, wildlife and animal paintings, still life, water scenes, Midwest and Southwest vistas, tropical birds and fish, flowers, city and village scenes in colorful expressionist and impressionist colors and styles.
University of Illinois Studio Arts BA Major: Painting; Minor: Photography. I continue to take classes and workshops and participate in local, national and state art groups and competitions.
