Rebecca Korpita is an artist living on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her artwork and illustrations reside in collections worldwide, appears on book covers, in magazines and are licensed on home goods and accessories. She is inspired by the coastal area in which she lives - the beach, the people, the lifestyle, the culture, old things and quirky things. Living near New Orleans, she loves the small colorful shotgun houses and captures them whenever she visits. Key West and all things tropical as well as women and their friendships and dogs and cats and their relationships with the people they own are some of her subjects.
As well as painting in traditional media, Rebecca does digital art from her original photography using multiple steps and manipulations to achieve the effect she envisions and her memory of that image. She also does collage with her own quotes often combined with vintage ephemera. She loves humor and color.
