I started working after college as a kindergarten teacher.   After we moved to North Carolina for my husband's job, I took interior design classes at the local community college.   After moving to Omaha, NE I was asked by our builder to furnish his model homes.   That led to referrals for more design work.   I found myself working in new homes, mostly doing custom blinds and fabric window coverings.   I eventually opened a fabric store with 300 bolts of custom drapery fabric.   I hired sever designers and we worked in the store and in homes doing...more
