GUEST SPOT ; THE ART OF JOHN KANIA

Im a young artist with a creative flare for fantasy, spiritual, supernatural themes by producing varied illustrations and paintings.
I am currently working on a Tarot deck of paintings on canvas.
Mostly I use acrylic on large canvas with some mixed media. I often use glitter! I use bold complimentry colours and also do darker works.

I am compelled to draw and paint! I like to paint contrasting sujects - things that you might not necessarily put together in a composition.
The 'unusual' facinates me and so many characters evolve from my paintings.
I also like to paint natural or realistic works from time to time.
I am always challenging myself to draw and paint different things. I would describe my style and decorative and evocative.

I specialise in Visionary & Spiritual art. I paint dreams and visions & the reality of the Spiritual realm.
I paint Fantasy based themes and can do portraits & landscapes.
My work is a journey. I believe art has been a healing for my soul, it speaks to me & and I hope you like what you see.
I tend to work on large canvases but i can use paper and card for smaller more detailed pieces.

Artists Bio
When Jon was a child he would always 'be in another world'
He says 'As an artist I can stay in my own world and show you what I see. What I see is important to me and it may mean something to you also. It's all down to your perception'
He is a very expressive thoughtful person and this shows in his paintings.
With training at North Hertfordshire college he was inspired by His tutor to look 'beyond the image.'
He draws and paints with strong attention to detail, often using mixed media on the canvas.
He has a background in Fashion, Textiles, Art & Design.
Inspired by fragments of Light and the notion that 'All is connected' is one of his main ideas.
His concepts spring from the Doorways of Time and Perception to Eternity & Spirituality.
He dislikes meaningless art and believes that he must share his work in the world.
His work is unconventional and explores many themes.
His work is described as 'visionary'. Painting many different subjects; exploring many ideas, he leaves no stone unturned.
He describes his art as 'a journey' and 'an awakening of the past, present and future'.
