In my quest to grow as an artist, I am continually striving to avoid clichés and focus the viewer's attention on often overlooked subject matter.   I love the rural south, but I paint wherever I go.   I want the viewer to join me and notice the shapes and the shadows, lines and colors that are framed and carved by God's light.   My artistic influences include, John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, Francis Towne and many others.   I have attended workshops with Tony Couch and Tony Van Hasselt....and I am a great admirer of the watercolors of Tony...more
