I'm a retired teacher from Indiana, mother of three sons, and wife to a very patient, supportive husband. Besides being a photographer, I dabble in various other traditional art forms, am an avid gardener, sing, and enjoy hiking with my husband. I grew up on a farm in Illinois, so being out in nature and observing wildlife was a daily venture. It continues still on our own beautifully forested farm/wildlife property in Indiana.

Several years ago, I began noticing a serious decline in our pollinators. I also became interested in finding ways to keep some of our migratory birds over winter...particularly the Eastern Bluebirds. After a great deal of research, followed by a tremendous amount of work, I was able to convert my gardens to all native plants for the pollinators, plant more fruit and berry bearing plants for the birds, put up more specifically sized/designed bird houses, and also to create a more beneficial habitat for all the various wildlife that frequent our property such as the birds, fox, deer, possum, raccoons, owls, herons, egrets, and hawks. I have a deep desire to preserve what we have and to prevent more loss to it. And in the meantime record, through my photography, all the beauty that is still available to us.

With my photography, I have been published twice, won numerous national awards and contests, had a month-long exhibit in a Chicago area museum, and have had my work sold and displayed in various locations around the world. Locally, I sell framed and canvas prints at different wildlife and bird enthusiast venues, local coffee/artisan shops, and various vendor events.

It is my desire to get people to 'notice' and appreciate our natural environment a bit more, and to perhaps, inspire them enough to want to save it for future generations. Enjoy this journey with me.
