Passionate about fine art, I discovered the magical & exciting world of digital art software with which I try to create colourful abstract images of nature & still life, gathering inspiration from the world around me.
My interest in digital art began six years ago while painting with watercolours. I realised the many techniques available using the computer far outweighed any traditional method. Hundreds of digital brushes are there at my fingertips. Whatever I can dream up, I can find whether a texture or pattern, shadow or cloud, there is a tool designed for it. The list is endless, the possibilities infinite.
“I love the way I can work with multiple layers, sometimes 40 or more, enhancing some, deleting others, using the opacity, saturation, lightening or darkening capability on each layer as I work. I use layer masks & clipping masks & like to distort, render or pixilate my work'.
With this amazing technology I can work uninterrupted. No setting up of equipment, no mess, no fuss & no time wasting. Always changing, always learning.
Born in Scotland, I specialised in art at A-level then university. I attended multiple courses on painting and life drawing at the Royal College of Art London.
