Description
This floral abstract occurred one evening when I wanted to paint but had no clue what I was about to paint. I took a spatula with a great deal of the colors of paint one sees and subconsciously came up with the shapes you see. I had no particular intention to paint anything at all, and this is the picture that emerged. I never sold the painting, but even better, the original hangs beautifully in my parent's home near an amazing staircase.

You probably agree that what we see in art and in the world around us in general depends on what is going on in our psyche. We all look at the same world and see different things in it. This gorgeous piece resembles some of the ice formations I look for and photograph around here. I walk along the creeks and look for ice to shoot. It's been quite cold in Colorado high country. A few days ago, it was 51 below zero around Antero Reservoir about an hour west of here. That was just 3 degrees shy of 54 below record.
