Description
The views from Rifugio Menaggio, high above Menaggio in the mid-Lake Como area of Italy, were reputed to be spectacular and on this sunny day the description did not disappoint! With clear skies, you can see far down Lake Como to the south (right), as well as to the Italian and Swiss Alps to the north (left). Menaggio can be seen near the center of the photo. Rifugio Menaggio is a rustic ‘refuge’ located at 1400m altitude where you can eat, sleep, drink, relax, and recharge after a long hike. In early May the facility was only open on weekends so we contented ourselves with our own food and drink, and some relaxation and photography after the hike.
