Urchin Boat Moored In Noyo Harbor

Description
A small fishing boat that once harvested sea urchins is tied up alongside old pilings that support a boarded-up building on Noyo Harbor’s rustic south dock. Reflections of the boat and pier bounce and ripple on the dark waters of the Noyo River at Fort Bragg on California’s Mendocino Coast.
Due to the rampant spread of invasive purple sea urchins, that have no market value and are decimating West Coast kelp forests while displacing other species, the once lucrative harvests of red sea urchins have drastically declined.
