Selby Gardens in Sarasota, Florida, offers many different garden rooms and benches where one can sit and enjoy the vegetation. This old, weathered bench tucked among the large ferns and other tropical plants offered a bit of shade on a hot summer day. The large tree branches have grown over the walkway and arch over the bench like a canopy.
According to the sites website, Selby Gardens was originally the home of William and Marie Selby. Today, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is an urban, bayfront oasis showcasing a living collection of rare and beautiful tropical plants. The Gardens is also a respected world leader in the study and conservation of plants, particularly epiphytes–plants adapted to live in the tree canopy, including orchids, bromeliads, gesneriads and ferns.
