Nereus is a pelagic world, so civilization in this system was built up on any available land, including all the moons large enough to have any sort of an atmosphere. This left Eione, a lifeless chunk of rock, suitable only for mining purposes. Nereus is the 'old man of the sea' in Greek mythology, and the 6 moons, including Eione, are named after Nereids, his daughters
