Description
The Twain Shall Meet is the second album by Eric Burton & the Animals. Released in 1998 on MGM Records, the cuts include “Sky Pilot” an anti-Vietnam war song, “Monterey” a tribute to the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival and “All Is One” a psychedelic piece that mixes bagpipes, sitar, oboes, horns, flutes and some pretty much idiotic lyrics. The album reached #78 on the Billboard 100 chart.
Eric Burton & the Animals were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 with it’s original members: Eric Burton-vocals, Chas Chandier-bass, Alan Price-keyboards, John Steel-drums and Hilton Person-guitar. The group had 10 top 20 hits on both the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100. Those songs include “The House of the Rising Sun”, “We Gotta Get Out of This Place”, “It’s My Life”, Don’t Bring Me Down”, “I’m Crying”, “See See Rider” and “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”. In 2008 Eric Burton was ranked #57 on the Rolling Stone’s list of The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.
