Description
This drawing is of a horse that was bred in Madrid Spain, which borders Portugal. The Owner of this stallion lives in Spain and raises what He calls "Spanish" Lusitano's. The Lusitano is very similar to the Andalusian. The Lusitano was originally bred for war and trained as a combat horse in the Ancestral Atlantic Western Occidental Nation of Hispania or present day Portugal. Eventually the Lusitano's personality made it easy for its rise in popularity and a much sought after dressage horse. The Lusitano is very smart, agile on its feet, easily trained, and makes a perfect partner for its human. The Lusitano is usually a thick necked horse with full and thick shoulders making it a power house and thus a perfect horse for bull-fighting as well as a excellent driving horse. Lusitano's are mostly seen in the show arena in Dressage today. This rendering is done in color pencil in preparation for a future painting.
