Description
The Phoenix, Arizona streetcar line spanned 1987 to 1948, having been completely electrified by 1893. So this vintage image, featuring horse drawn trams, dates from around 1890.
In John Wayne's last movie, 1976's "The Shootist," he temporarily abandons his steed and travels by horse drawn streetcar. The film is set in 1901, the twilight years of the Old West.
