Description
Fireweed derives its name from the fact it is one of the first plants to emerge following a wildfire. It is common across Alaska, in open areas such as fields or roadsides. This fireweed was found along the Richardson Highway. Fireweed is seen as an indicator of the changing seasons in Alaska. It blooms from the bottom upward. The purple “branches” near the bottom Mark flowers that have bloomed already. The blooms near the center are a range of new and fading blooms. The purple buds near the top are next to blossom. When the blooms reach the top, summer is drawing to a close.

A wonderful image. I'm glad you got a new IPad Pro. I have the first edition of the Pro, and it is still going strong; although, I keep thinking about a new one and what I am missing.
