Description
The Colored Musicians Club is beloved in Buffalo by people of all backgrounds because it speaks so eloquently of our town's musical history. Years ago there were separate musicians' unions for black and white musicians, and this cool old brick building on Michigan Street was the headquarters of the black musicians' union. Count Basie and Duke Ellington jammed here. They and other visiting masters would come here after their gigs. The club now is home to a wonderful little jazz museum, and under normal circumstances there is live music here most nights of the week.
