Description
This long shadow was cast in a late afternoon tennis practice. On the California central coast outdoor tennis is a year-round sport. Though sometimes called on account of rain in the winter months, it is never cancelled due to snow!
This is actually the shadow of my younger brother. It was taken years ago, so I can no longer call him my little brother because he is now nine inches taller than me! From six years old on he spent every summer and every school break at the local tennis camp. Lots of kids do! And, unlike many childhood team sports, those kids can and frequently do continue to play tennis into their retirement years. Tennis can be a life-long passion!

Love the creativity in this shot to include a portion of the racket not just the shadow. I think it adds a great dimension to the overall image. v

That shadow would be my best friend. Only he would know how bad my game was.
Caitlyn Grasso replied:
Thanks for the comment, Glenn! I'm afraid I am not the best player either. The shadow belongs to my now not so little brother who is very good!
Upavon, Wi - United Kingdom
By presenting only the court and racket as directly viewed, and the person as an indirect silhouette, you have made this image purely about tennis, not about an individual player who would otherwise inevitably be the focus of attention. V# 13
