TARPON ENCOUNTER by KAREN WILES
I was able to capture the swimming tarpons underneath this adorable brown pelican in the Florida Keys recently in Islamorada. It is always interesting when animals can be photographed above and underneath the emerald waters at the same time and makes for a unique artwork aura.
The tarpons giant shiny scales can be seen here, even underwater. The tales from the Deep Blue Sea of giant glimmering monsters surfacing in the sea were probably big tarpons rolling upon the surface of the water. These giant fish are spectacular when jumping out of the water on a glistening full moon night. This pelican probably wishes his beak was a little bigger for this particular nibble of fish...
