Cottonwood Lake has gorgeous sunsets partially due to the fact that beyond the dam on the west side of the lake the terrain drops off suddenly leaving the pine trees silhouetted against the sky. If you look closely you can see the rings in the water where fish were jumping and surfacing to feed. This is the lake on Grand Mesa near Grand Junction, Colorado, where my family has spent many wonderful outings together.
