Description
When visiting Iceland, most likely your jumping off point will be Reykjavik, the capital city of this country. The metal sculpture hearkens back to this European Country's heritage but it is not a Viking ship as most tourists presume. It is however a "dreamboat" as imagined by its artist Jón Gunnar Árnason. His concept won in a competition for the city's 200th anniversary in 1990. It was intended to give the impression of voyaging to unknown lands.
