Stoer Head Lighthouse, positioned along the striking Assynt coastline in the Scottish Highlands, stands at a modest height of 14 meters. Completed in 1870 and designed by David Stevenson, this cylindrical white tower serves as a vital maritime beacon. Originally illuminated by a paraffin vapor lamp, the lighthouse underwent electrification in 1978, extending its guiding light's visibility to 22 nautical miles. Despite its relatively modest stature, Stoer Head Lighthouse remains a significant landmark, contributing to the rich maritime history of the region and offering a picturesque symbol of navigational aid against the backdrop of Scotland's rugged shores.
