A man stand-up paddle surfing (paddle boarding) with his best friend in Santa Barbara Bay, California as his feet are caressed by gentle ocean waves. This is a companion to the image that I posted a while ago titled "Santa Barbara California" (taken on the same day). This view is looking south towards the Pacific, with a backdrop of the Channel Islands National Park.
Santa Barbara is a year-round tourist destination renowned for its heavenly Mediterranean weather, beaches, postcard-perfect scenery and Spanish architecture. It has some of the world's most beautiful, clean and uncrowded beaches. Situated on a south-facing section of coastline, the city lies between the steeply rising Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The south facing orientation allows for Santa Barbara to enjoy great weather all year long. The average temperature in is in the 70 degree range year round. The beaches are pristine with long stretches of sand as far as the eye can see along the coastline.
