Description
I felt drawn to create this whimsical painting of a remotely situated old postbox, to gain access to which, you have to cross a tiny ditch. I just loved the tangle of twigs and thin branches in the hedgerow and the emergence of spring flowers - celandine and daffodils. Yes, this spot is really named "Skullsgate Post" I could not discover how it got its name. It is deep in the Kentish countryside, near where two country lanes cross ...perhaps on the route of old coaches, which also carried the mail?
