This Sheraton Hotel is located on Kalakaua Avenue, the main thoroughfare along Waikiki Beach in Honolulu on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. It sits right on Waikīkī Beach. The Sheraton Waikiki Hotel was built in 1971.
Adjacent is the historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel, known as the Pink Palace of the Pacific, also on Kalakaua Avenue. It was one of the first hotels established in Waikiki, The Royal Hawaiian is considered one of the premier hotel for Hawaiian tourists. It opened in February of 1927. This hotel is representative of the era of the true Hawaii.
Other hotels can be seen. Hotels are crowded together along the beach. This image was taken from out on the ocean. It was a fine day for a canoe ride!
