Description
These concrete steps, guarded by a solitary seagull, lead from Guard Island lighthouse down into the Tongass Narrows, Alaska. The Narrows are at the beginning of the Inside Passage and the Guard Island lighthouse is about eleven miles from the small town of Ketchikan, Alaska. The lighthouse is no longer used, and is closed to visitors. In summer, the island is covered with wildflowers.
