Leavenworth Street is located in the heart of Russian Hill in San Francisco. During the 1850s and the 1860s the north slope of Russian Hill was a fine residential district known for its large, gardened lots. Many residents, such as James King, George Hearst, and William Penn Humphreys were well-known San Franciscans who used to live on Russian Hill.
The overall character of Leavenworth Street area is a vintage mix of small historic houses, with many cozy gardens; and four larger buildings such apartment complexes and San Francisco Art Institute. Leavenworth street is like a museum under the open sky, which is important part of San Francisco history and essential in maintaining the historic character of the neighborhood.

I believe this one was in more urban area of the town on Russian Hill, which is pretty sophisticated (not even close to "pink") area. I was drawing for several hours interrupted by the tourists gathering around... Irina
