View of the Mascarat canyon and the coastal town of Benidorm from the southern peak of the Sierra de Oltà. The Sierra Helada Nature Park is the eye-catcher on the Mediterranean coast. The natural scene is framed by weathered limestone cliffs. Pine trees and Mediterranean herbs grow on the mountain slopes. In the distance, the blue of the sky and the sea make a dreamlike impression. The Sierra de Oltà in Calpe is undoubtedly one of my favourite destinations for hiking and photography on the northern Costa Blanca. I particularly like the rugged rock formations and the views of the vast Mediterranean Sea.
My photographic work is inspired by long hikes on remote mountain trails in the province of Alicante in Spain. Every time I am in the Sierra de Oltà and let my gaze wander into the distance, the clocks seem to tick a little slower. The local hiking routes offer marvellous views of the touristy coast, but also of the surrounding mountains. This landscape photo is intended to bring the charm of the Costa Blanca and its enchanting mountains into your home.
