Title
Recycleable Isn't Always Recycled
Artist
Adam Long
Medium
Mixed Media - Cast Paper
Description
Inspired by walks in my neighborhood where I can see plastic bottle litter on the roads. These get washed into the creeks, down to the river, out to the ocean and into a gyre to float for years and pollute the ecosystem. This causes phytoplankton to not grow properly or at all and changes the ocean chemistry which affects our climate. This sculpture uses "bubble" packaging and soda bottles as molds for recycled paper casts. Things that can easily be recycled, but so many people don't. Sculpture of variable dimensions created from recycled paper cast in "bubble packaging".
