Description
This is Christiana as she awaits fitted out last year for another season of lobster fishing here in the Southeast waters of New England. She's been laid up for the Winter months. Now it's time to put her to work. It looks like her owner and captain, a commercial lobster fisherman who lives up the street from me is ready to take her to sea for the Spring, Summer and Fall months. Pots, lines and buoys are scattered about in the background so there is much work to do before the first haul as Spring fast approaches. She's got beautiful lines and I am sure she fishes well. I decided to keep the background, trees, pots and lines relatively subdued while putting a great deal of importance or prominence in the painting of Christiana's hull.
