Description
This pretty bunch of flowers is called Stocks and they were in my mother’s garden in California. I liked the way the darker pink flowers were portrayed as a shadow of the focused flowers in the front of the composition.
Stock flowers (Matthiola incana) are considered a cottage garden flower and have a sweet and spicy type fragrance. They come in different colors. They are also called Gillyflowers, Ten-weeks, Hoary and Vintage Stock. They can grow up to 3 feet tall and are a favorite in flower bouquets.
