On a trip to Hamburg Germany, we happened on this unusual scene in the Port of Hamburg, a large red oil production facility ship is positioned in back of the Louisiana Star paddle wheel boat. Tourists were madly snaping photographs on the upper deck of the German paddle wheel boat,

The Louisiana Star is a passenger boat of Rainer Abicht Elbreederei GmbH in Hamburg. It is styled to resemble an American paddle steamer; however, it's driven by a diesel engine and using propellers, the paddle wheel being ornamental.

Behind is the Petrojarl Banff ship, now retired, used as a floating production oil storage and off loading unit designated ship.

The ship could load up to 60,000 barrel of oil a day from a depth of 90 meters. The area of application was 200 km east of Aberdeen Banff and Kyle oil fields in the North Sea. The production ship had a special, triangular design.
