I think windows evoke so many feelings. Ancient windows made of stone, stained glass windows and monastery arches, all intrigue me. I have created a piece that contains many of the elements I love. First I created this image of the Madonna, Mother Mary with baby Christ inside a lotus blossom and turned it into a stained glass window, which I placed inside a monastery arch. Then I added an entire winter Christmas in the forest scene (which you can buy all by itself if you look in my gallery.) In this scene there is a tannenbaum, Christmas tree lit with a star on top. There are birds, bunnies, a squirrel, a deer and a red fox in the scene. It is snowing stars in a starry night. On the ledge of the monastery window thee are two cardinals and the arch is adorned with poinsettias, holly berries and pine cones.

The number of layers of art it took to compose this one painting is enormous. The garlands alone contain more than 100 layers. Since I find counting extremely boring, I will estimate that this entire picture contains between 167 and 180 layers. I hope you enjoy it.
