In my day my main man was my father. I can’t recall any time my dad said we go somewhere and I wasn’t available. I remember those days dad would come home from work trip with a big loaf of bread and sweets. It was one hell of a treat! We would welcome him warmly as he opened up more gifts. Shoes, clothes and other stuff. Then the following day he would invite us for a walk with him. We never said no to the main man! It was such an honor to go for a walk with the father! Listening to all his work trip true stories and the exaggerations.

Many years down the line, I ask my son to go for a walk with me and he has to check with his friends if they have something planned before he can confirm! Seriously! If not his friends then he has to finish a Roblox game he is engaged in! Man, we have come from far. Eventually we are walking together but no questions about stuff on the way. On a walk like this I would ask my dad all sorts of questions. Why do birds fly?… why does the sky look blue?…how come the sun is bigger than the earth and it looks small?… why do clouds look like bunches of cotton wool?… and many more.

We believed our dads knew all things… could beat all people… could stop the rains… Now these kids of ours know all things… they even call you Dad dude! They ask you stuff like... dad did you have a computer in your young days… how many GBs? RAM capacity? Was the internet as fast those days? Did you learn coding in school? Do you know how to code? Do you have a crypto currency account? I guess this is how the world rolls now. Not even one question about butterflies! We have come a long way. We thank God for Kids…This is how we assure our generations will continue…. Be welcoming to change! Good old world!
