Description
Photograph of the mysterious moving rocks of Death Valley National Park. In this fascinating area, no human has ever witnessed the motion of the boulders. They can weigh as much as 1000 pounds. Geologists debate the process by which boulders can move across the area known as Racetrack Playa.

GORGEOUS!!! Grew up in this place!! No footprints...the mud is dry. Nice you found such a good-sized rock and such a long trail. Rare sometimes....people steal them too much! Congrats on your sale!!

Thank you for the comment Jason. It is a rather treacherous drive to get to this area within Death Valley N.P. The road is littered with razor-edged boulders that eat vehicle tires for breakfast. A ranger told me not to take the drive. But it was o.k.-I had a rental!
